Brainbow Crayons™

Posted by ideaka
Jun 30 2010

I present to you Brianbow Crayons™

So this is my first real attempt making these and I think that they came out pretty good. I am thinking about selling them, what do people think ? I think they may have to be limited run because they take a long time to make. I will have to talk to my friend Tim Liles who made the Crayon Rings about some tricks to manufacturing them http://www.timothyliles.com/#ea0/tumblr

This is my first attempt to make crayon brains. I need some more practice but I am sure I will get it right very soon. I am working on soap, candles and brain bites (made with brownies) too. Okay back to the kitchen.

Mooooooo

I went and picked up my Moo business cards yesterday. If you don't know about Moo check them out www.moo.com. They have great options when it comes to customizing your business cards. You can put up to 100 different images on the cards. They started out in London but their American manufacturing facility happens to be about 10 min from me in East Providence. I spend days trying out different card ideas, adding different product images etc. but at the end I went with # 1-100. I forgot to add #49 &# 69 so now I have 2 #99's & 2 #100's per 100 pack. Next time I will pay more attention.

This is what 4 dozen Brain Freezes looks like if you wanted to know. I am so excited to have so many Brain Freeze ice trays sitting in my living room right now. I just picked up a few cases for my sale on Sat in Newport RI. I am still such a little kid. I have the need to open my new "toys" and look at them even if they all look exactly the same. So come by to get your new Brain Freeze and maybe I will even sign it for you ;)

Star Trek & Ke$ha's 'TiK ToK' mix

Posted by ideaka
Jun 23 2010

I found this on geekologie, take a look/listen. I am not saying that I love this song but its not that bad, it just gets stuck in your head. You could have a much worse song stuck in your head if you ask me. Even if you don't like the song its still amusing. Oh and Star Trek has to be one of the worst acted shows ever. Growing up my sister was a huge fan so I did watch a lot of it and she even met William Shatner. I was never a fan.

I am going to start posting pictures of all the places that either myself or others find Brian Freeze. Who ever sends me a picture of Brain Freeze in the oddest place or from a different continent will win a free Brain Freeze, so send me your pictures.

This is the best display I have seen yet, thanks Pleasant Surprise (Thayer Street Providence RI)

This bike looks beautiful and folds up to fit in where my spare tire goes, what a great concept. I want one yet I don't know if I would really ever use it.

Arms & Legs

Jun 15 2010

I saw this great post on Johnny Cupcakes today. It gave me some much needed encouragement. I am in the process of printing my biggest t shirt order right now and that's very scary. I am also branding my shirts with lots of custom details. I will be showing my new branded shirts at the Indie Art by the Sea in Newport RI on July 3rd http://www.indieartbythesea.com/

Tuesday Tips: Arms & Legs by Johnny Cupcakes

While starting a business, don’t get bummed out when going broke. Remember, You have to spend an arm & a leg to make more arms & legs. It’s natural for any human to want instant gratification. Many people give up after realizing how much money and time really goes into it. Building a strong foundation for your business is important. Your business is a personal investment & if you’re in it for the right reasons, and for the long run, then you’ll begin to understand & cope with the fact that it comes with the territory. Now get out that saw!

Flag Day is on June 14th and this is some interesting history behind the design of the current flag and some other interesting tidbits. Did you know that Vermont used to be its own Country ?
