Neon 4x4

I saw this monstrosity driving down 195 in Seekonk MA the other day. He was driving about 85-90 MPH weaving in and out of traffic. I was trying to keep up with him to get a good shot. I thought to myself is it really worth crashing my car to take this stupid picture ? Well I did it any way.

jellyfish in a glass case of emotion

At the back of the Heller Gallery I found these amazing pieces from Steffen Dam. They were not part of the "BREAKABLE" show. Heller Gallery represents the artist and I would love to have one or two of these but they are very expensive. They run from several thousands up to $50,000 for a large set.

I Really love Lamp

Posted by ideaka
May 20 2010

I went to the ICFF last weekend (sorry I am very slow to post) and saw some great pieces and lots of inspiration. I have some new ideas for lamps using glass after going to the Heller Gallery. I have never worked in glass before. I think I will get some experts to craft them for me. This is my favorite piece from "BREAKABLE" curated by The American Design Club. www.americandesignclub.com

funny t shirt slogans that I will not wear

Posted by ideaka
May 20 2010

Wile doing research for my "t shirt line" (I hope someday I will be big in Japan but I will start with Rhode Island) I found these shirts from Rizzo tees. They are not the kind of shirts that I would wear myself but I find them amusing. I tend to not like shirts with words on them unless they are really interesting. What I would love to have is a real car magnet that says Support Magnetic Ribbons and maybe a poster that said Do cities in China have AMERICANTOWNS? http://www.rizzotees.com/

Polish students dorm-based light show

Posted by ideaka
May 19 2010

This is called "Projekt P.I.W.O.," (the acronym means "beer" in Polish)

"Transforming their dormitory building into a light show extravaganza, the students at Poland's Wroclaw University of Technology demonstrated their tech-savvy skills with this large-scale installation of pixel-like flashes set to an equally animated soundtrack"

My girlfriend found this today and it made me laugh a lot. The guy who made this writes "The Crazy Indian Video" with SUBTITLES THAT SAY WHAT I THINK THE VIDEO SOUNDS LIKE IN ENGLISH!!! You should check out the other videos that he puts subtitles to, they are great. http://www.youtube.com/user/buffalax

Oh boy did Betty White kill it on SNL last night. One of the best I have seen in years. I am a huge fan of SNL and watch every one. This NPR skit is right up there with Schwetty balls with Alec Baldwin.

going back

Posted by ideaka
May 9 2010

When I was 16 years old I had my first job at the Bocce Club in Woonsocket RI. My sister her husband and I just took my mom to eat there for mothers day. It was a very odd experience being back in a place I worked so long ago. The place is looking pretty shitty and falling apart, I don't think I ever want to go back.

This was truly a lol moment. I was watching the latest episode of 30 Rock last night and burst out laughing when this came on. I was still laughing when it was over. I had to share it. I am not quite sure what it is about this that makes me laugh so much, its just damn funny. I love this show !
