ideaka was founded in 2005 by Chris Haines after he earned a degree in Furniture Design from The Rhode Island School of Design

From an early age Chris was obsessed with redesigning everything he saw. “I was never satisfied with what was out there, I wanted to make things function better and to be more aesthetically pleasing.” Here at ideaka we believe strongly that design should not only be beautiful and function well, it should also be fun. Ben and Jerry's said it best "If it is not fun, why do it?"

Our designs include lighting, furniture, apparel, accessories, graphics, packaging and product design. Ideaka's design studio is located in a converted church in Somerville, MA Circa 1887

Our products have been featured in many publications, film & numerous websites such as: Food Network & NICHE (USA), Nisha (Israel), Iceland Air & China Air magazines. Normal Adolescent Behavior (Independent Film) & The Top 20 Weirdest gadgets of 2006 at reghardware.co.uk.
